A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, on Wednesday, sending tremors across various cities.
The tremors were reported in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Abbottabad, Malakand, Kohat, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Mohmand, Bajaur and Swat. The epicentre was located in the Hindukush region of the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with a depth of 220 kilometres.

Residents reported feeling the ground shake in areas such as Mingora in Swat and Landikotal in Khyber.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe property damage, although local authorities remain on high alert for aftershocks or further seismic activity.
The earthquake was also reported in the India-held Kashmir, including Srinagar.
