Sindh has discovered huge oil and gas reserves in record time from the Pateji-X1 well in Sujawal district, marking one of the fastest exploration-to-production timelines in Pakistan’s energy history.
The discovery, made in the Shah Bandar Block, was identified at a depth of 2,475 meters in October, and production began in November. The well is expected to produce 12.4 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and approximately 1,090 barrels of crude oil daily.
The Pateji-X1 project is a joint venture with the following ownership stakes:
- Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL): 63%
- Mari Petroleum Company Limited: 32%
- Sindh and federal governments: 2.5% each
PPL, the lead operator, has officially informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange about this milestone through an official letter.
