Seven people, including a famous Saraiki singer, Sharafat Ali Khelvi has passed away late at night near Van Bachharan Pakka Ghanjira in Punjab’s Mianwali, Samaa TV reported Thursday.
According to details, the accident occurred when the singer’s car plunged into a canal due to excessive speed.
The ill-fated vehicle lost control and veered into the canal. Those killed in the accident were musicians who were returning from a music party.
Swift response by the local rescue teams enabled them to recover the submerged vehicle and retrieve the bodies of all seven individuals.
Local law enforcement, in their efforts to aid the grieving families, discovered a bag filled with cash in the singer's car.
The police handed over the bag to the relatives of the deceased.
Police, in the meantime, have started an investigation into the incident.
