A devastating car bomb explosion on the outskirts of Manbij, northern Syria, claimed the lives of 14 women and one man on Monday, while 15 other women sustained injuries, Syria’s civil defense reported.
According to the statement, all the victims were agricultural workers.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
This marks the second explosion in the area within three days. On Saturday, a similar car bomb attack in central Manbij killed four civilians and injured nine others, including children, as reported by Syria’s state news agency, SANA.
Manbij, located about 30 km (19 miles) south of the Turkish border and west of the Euphrates River, has seen recurring violence in recent years due to ongoing conflict in the region.
