In the interbank market, the value of the Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Tuesday. During the early trading session, the rupee saw an increase of 0.09%, rising by 24 paisas to reach 278.80 rupees per dollar.
On Monday, the Pakistani rupee had closed at 279.04 against the US dollar.
Internationally, on Tuesday, the Canadian Dollar, Mexican Peso, and Euro remained stable against the US dollar, whereas these currencies had experienced significant fluctuations on Monday.
This stability came after US President Donald Trump suspended tariffs on Canada and Mexico for a month. Following this announcement, the Canadian Dollar, Mexican Peso, and Euro quickly rebounded from their lowest levels in years.
The US dollar remained stable at 1.4435 Canadian dollars, despite a 0.85% drop on Monday when it had reached its lowest point since 2003, standing at 1.4792 Canadian dollars.
The US dollar also saw a 0.3% increase against the Mexican Peso, reaching 20.3939 pesos, although it had previously surged to a three-year high of 21.1882 pesos.
