Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Wednesday said that Indian atrocities and the rising tide of Hindutva extremism continue to strengthen the resolve of the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination.
During his visit to Muzaffarabad, Gen Munir met with notable figures and veterans from Kashmir and paid homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs.
Upon arrival at the Jammu and Kashmir Monument, he laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, offering tributes to those who lost their lives for the Kashmir cause.

Speaking on the occasion, the army chief lauded the dedication, professionalism, and combat readiness of the deployed officers and soldiers, who continue to serve under challenging operational conditions in the region.
He commended their high morale and vigilance, stressing the need to maintain peak operational preparedness to counter any hostile provocations.
Gen Munir expressed full confidence in the battle readiness of the armed forces, reiterating that any act of aggression would be met with a resolute response. He underscored the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), vowing that the nation would always stand by them in their “just and legitimate struggle” against state-sponsored repression.
“Without any doubt, Kashmir will be free one day and will be a part of Pakistan as per the free will and destiny of the Kashmiri people,” he said.
Earlier, upon arrival, Gen Munir was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps.
