Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during which they discussed the ongoing situation in the Middle East and the plight of Palestinians in Gaza.
Both leaders expressed concern over the proposal to displace the people of Gaza, calling it distressing and unjust.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed that Palestinian land belongs to the Palestinian people, emphasizing that the two-state solution, in line with UN Security Council resolutions, remains the only viable and just option.
He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Dar also conveyed Pakistan’s backing for convening an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Both ministers agreed to maintain close coordination on developments in the region.
