The 2016 romantic hit ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ made an unexpected yet successful comeback to cinemas on February 7, 2025, with fans flooding theatres to relive the tragic love story.
While the film initially underperformed, its re-release has been a huge success, collecting an estimated INR 18 crore in just four days.
For Harshvardhan Rane, this success holds an even deeper meaning—he considers it an ‘amazing’ wedding gift for his co-star Mawra Hocane, who recently tied the knot with Ameer Gilani.
In an interview, Harshvardhan was asked about sending wedding wishes to Mawra. He responded: “Numbers ke through wish karna chahunga (I would like to wish through numbers).”
Reflecting on the film’s journey, the actor admitted to losing touch with the team after its original release failed at the box office. However, seeing Mawra’s happiness on her wedding day, he expressed hope that the film’s re-release success would bring an even bigger smile to her face.

The overwhelming fan response to ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’s’ re-release has reignited hopes for a sequel. Harshvardhan took to Instagram, sharing a video of emotional fans watching the movie in cinemas.
In his caption, he wrote: “I went below the producer's office to request a re-release; now the next step I will do is an 11-day (water only) fast below his office to request him for Part 2.”
He further added: “9 years ago, the producer gave it their blood, the director gave it their sweat, Mawra gave it her soul, and now you gave it your tears!! I will give my life for Part 2, Tumhaari Kasam.”
