The mysterious death of renowned Sindhi poet Dr. Akash Ansari, initially believed to be caused by burns, has taken a dramatic turn as police uncover startling revelations during the investigation.
According to police sources, Akash Ansari’s driver, Ashiq Sial, has confessed that the poet was murdered by his adopted son, Vishal Latif, who later set the room on fire to destroy evidence.
The incident came to light when a fire broke out at Dr. Akash Ansari’s house in Citizen Colony, Hyderabad. A rescue team and police arrived at the scene, recovered Ansari’s body, and shifted it to Civil Hospital Hyderabad for postmortem. Following the completion of formalities, his heirs transported the body to Badin, where it was laid to rest after funeral prayers.
On the family's suspicion and medical reports, police took Vishal Latif and the driver Ashiq Sial into custody for interrogation. During questioning, the driver revealed that Vishal, a known drug addict, had allegedly killed Akash Ansari before setting the room on fire. At the time of his arrest, Vishal was reportedly still under the influence of drugs.
Police records indicate that Dr. Akash Ansari had previously filed a case against Vishal Latif at Bhittai Nagar police station last year, though the matter was later settled.
Following the driver’s confession, police revisited the crime scene and collected additional evidence to strengthen their case. Further investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the murder.
