Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed confidence that Pakistan has successfully avoided economic default, crediting the efforts of his party and leadership.
In a meeting with Members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs), Nawaz Sharif remarked that the country had been saved from financial collapse due to the hard work of his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, and the restoration of economic stability.
Addressing the MPs from Sahiwal, Khanewal, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar divisions, Nawaz Sharif lamented the impact of politics on Pakistan’s development, emphasizing the damage done by malice, indecency, and revenge in the political landscape.
He highlighted the country’s return to economic stability, stating, "Economic development will be ensured with the continuation of our policies."
Nawaz Sharif further claimed that corruption, economic destruction, inflation, and rudeness were products of the previous regime.
He reiterated that the nation had moved away from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and was now focusing on economic growth and alleviating inflation for the people.
The MPs praised Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif for their dedication to Pakistan’s development, noting that despite facing personal challenges, the brothers have always prioritized the nation’s welfare.
They credited the swift restoration of the IMF program and the country’s economic stability to the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside his brother Nawaz's long-standing leadership.
During the meeting, the assembly members also lauded Maryam Nawaz for her role in public service. They expressed pride in her recognition as the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, highlighting her contributions to the party and public welfare.
Her leadership, they noted, is being acknowledged across the country, and her efforts are being demanded in all provinces.
The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, also addressed the assembly members, thanking the leadership and her party for entrusting her with the responsibility of public service. She spoke about the Green Pakistan project in Cholistan, emphasizing its potential to bring about an agricultural revolution through modern machinery and resources.
The meeting concluded with discussions on ongoing public welfare projects and future political strategies. The leadership underscored their commitment to furthering the development agenda for the betterment of the people of Pakistan.
The assembly members left the meeting hopeful for the future, with the promise of continuing the vision of Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif to ensure Pakistan’s prosperity.
