A comprehensive shooting competition organized by the Pakistan Army concluded in Kohat, featuring 67 marksmen from 11 teams representing various merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The competition encompassed multiple shooting disciplines, including SMG (Sub-Machine Gun), pistol, bolt action, and skeet shooting events. Khyber district's team secured the overall championship title, while individual achievements were notable across categories.
In individual events, Junaid Iqbal from Orakzai claimed first position in pistol shooting, while Shoaib Khan from Bannu topped the skeet shooting category. Hazrat Ali from Khyber excelled in SMG shooting, and Ahmad Khan from South Waziristan demonstrated superior skill in bolt action shooting.
Major General Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, General Officer Commanding Kohat, attended as the chief guest and distributed awards among the participants. The event also featured cultural performances, including Khattak dance, tug of war, tent pegging, and archery demonstrations, accompanied by traditional musical performances.
Participants showed particular interest in the weapons display stalls showcasing equipment currently in use by the Pakistan Army. The competition served as a platform for identifying shooting talent while promoting sports activities in the merged districts.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding performances across all categories, marking a significant milestone in promoting competitive shooting sports in the region.
