Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani has publicly challenged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to drink water from the Maha Kumbh river in Prayagraj.
The faceoff situation occurred after the Chief Minister dismissed a National Green Tribunal (NGT) report dated February 17, 2025, which indicated high levels of faecal bacteria and total coliform in the river water. Adityanath refuted these claims, asserting that the water was "fit for drinking."
In response, Dadlani took to social media, urging the Chief Minister to "take a nice chunky glug directly from the river, on camera."
He further cautioned about potential health risks, mentioning diseases such as dysentery, cholera, and amoebiasis. This exchange has ignited a broader discussion on public health and water safety during the Maha Kumbh festival.
