Peshawar's young football team emerged victorious in the Chief of Army Staff Under-16 Football Tournament, defeating Malakand in the final match held at Warsak Cadet College, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The three-day tournament, organized by Frontier Corps North Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, brought together youth teams from six regions including Peshawar, Malakand, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Major General Anjum Riaz, Inspector General Frontier Corps North, attended the final as chief guest and distributed trophies and awards to outstanding players and teams.
The tournament drew significant attention from local youth, with spectators filling the venue throughout the three-day event. Many young attendees expressed hope for similar future tournaments, viewing them as potential stepping stones toward national team selection.
"This tournament serves as a platform to showcase the sporting talent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's youth," stated a tournament official. The event highlighted the region's commitment to developing grassroots football programs and identifying promising young athletes.
