The upcoming Galaxy A-series models promise upgraded performance, longer software support, and a fresh design.
Samsung is gearing up to unveil two new mid-range smartphones—the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36—in India. A recently released teaser video has sparked excitement, hinting at upgraded cameras, stylish design, and AI-powered features.
While the teaser mostly showcases existing Galaxy A models, the final moments provide a glimpse of the new devices. Notably, Samsung has confirmed that both the Galaxy A56 and A36 will come with six years of OS and security updates—an improvement over last year’s A35 and A55, which offered only four updates. Samsung's latest One UI 7 will come pre-installed on the devices, running Android 15.
New design and enhanced camera system
Samsung appears to be revamping the camera design for its upcoming A-series phones. Unlike the Galaxy A55, where camera rings were placed separately, the Galaxy A56 and A36 are expected to feature a dedicated island to house the camera sensors, with an LED flash positioned next to it. The Galaxy A56 may have slightly thicker camera rings, creating a unique design that resembles Samsung’s Fold series.
Performance and battery life
Leaks suggest that the Galaxy A56 will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1580 processor, while the Galaxy A36 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Both devices are expected to sport 6.6-inch OLED displays, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth performance. Additionally, they will pack 5,000 mAh batteries with 45 W fast charging, promising long-lasting battery life and quick recharges.
Launch timeline and availability
While the teaser did not specify the exact launch date, the new Galaxy A-series smartphones are expected to debut in March. Open sales will likely follow shortly after the official unveiling. Alongside the A56 and A36, Samsung may also introduce the Galaxy A26, though its release is less certain.
