In a decisive move aimed at quelling concerns and objections raised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially incorporated a reserve day for the highly anticipated Super 4 clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India in the Super11 Asia Cup 2023.
The showdown is slated to take place on September 10th, 2023, at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
In light of unpredictable weather conditions that can often disrupt cricket matches in the region, ACC's decision to introduce a reserve day ensures that fans won't miss out on any action if adverse weather conditions intervene during the high-stakes Pakistan-India encounter.
According to ACC's newly released guidelines, should inclement weather force a suspension of play during the Pakistan vs. India clash, the match will seamlessly continue on September 11th, 2023, starting from the precise point at which it was halted.
However, it's worth noting that if the match does extend to the reserve day, India will face a challenging schedule, as they are slated to play back-to-back matches. After their pivotal encounter against Pakistan on September 10th, they are scheduled to face Sri Lanka on September 12th.
Furthermore, ACC has also confirmed that the final match of the Super11 Asia Cup 2023, scheduled for September 17th, will also be backed by a reserve day, underlining the organizers' commitment to ensuring a conclusive conclusion to this prestigious cricket tournament.
