A recent decision by King Charles III to bestow an honorary title upon Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has reportedly unsettled Meghan Markle, fueling speculation about the monarch’s influence over her career trajectory.
According to reports in Woman’s Day, the Duchess of Sussex believes the British royal family is maneuvering behind the scenes to undermine her professional ventures. The concerns emerged after Sarandos was awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to the UK entertainment industry.
The honor has led Markle to suspect that the King may be working against her projects.
A palace source, however, dismissed the allegations, stating, “The protective instincts of every royal have been in overdrive over the past year, leading to reduced tolerance for the Meghan situation. But she is mistaken if she thinks King Charles is behind any effort to axe her show. He and Queen Camilla are entirely indifferent.”
The reports further suggest that Markle is feeling increasingly isolated as she and Prince Harry have separated their professional ventures. This development has allegedly left her feeling “abandoned” as she navigates career challenges on her own.
Adding to the tensions is Prince William’s apparent growing association with former US President Donald Trump. Markle, who has had a strained relationship with Trump due to his past comments about her, reportedly considers this development a significant concern. A source cited by Woman’s Day remarked, “The thought of Kate and William socialising with their president is unsettling for Meghan and Harry, particularly given Trump’s vocal stance against her.”
The report further noted that Markle is beginning to reflect on past conflicts, with concerns that alienating key figures may have long-term repercussions. “She’s starting to realise that burning bridges on the way up may not have been the best strategy,” the source added.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have issued any official statements in response to these claims.
