On March 5, 2025, Dharmendra took to Instagram to share a melancholic photo of himself dressed in a brown-toned sweatshirt and velvet scarf. His visibly worried expression and unkempt beard sparked speculation among fans about his well-being. However, it was his emotional caption that truly raised concerns, "Dooriyan Dillon mein badti hi ja rahi hain….. kab mile ga Chhutkara… in ghalat fahimiyon see." As soon as the post went viral, Dharmendra’s fans flooded the comments section with messages of love and support. In 2023, after his grandson Karan Deol’s wedding, he issued a public apology to his wife Hema Malini and daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The Deol family had made headlines when Hema Malini and her daughters were seemingly absent from the wedding celebrations, which were largely attended by Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their family.
