Instagram, part of the Meta family, is ringing in its latest anniversary with a batch of features designed to appeal to Generation Z.
These features are set to go through testing soon, and if all goes well, they'll be launched in the coming months.
The aim is to make it easier for users to express themselves and share their content more effortlessly.
During a recent Meta event in Delhi, Instagram introduced four key features aimed at engaging Gen Z users:
Birthday help
In addition to celebrating birthdays, Instagram now lets users assist their friends in remembering these special days by adding fun elements like photos and confetti to their profile pictures.
Simplified note sharing
Sharing notes just got simpler. Users can now quickly send audio or video notes to one another.
These notes can be found in the Direct Messages section at the top of the messages.
The Audio Notes feature allows for voice recordings, and Selfie Video Notes enable short video notes that last for 24 hours.
Multiple lists in stories
One of the most awaited features is here. Previously, users could only create a list of Close Friends for sharing Stories.
Now, they can create multiple lists, making it easy to share with specific groups like university friends or work colleagues.
