Pakistan Railways (PR) temporarily suspended all train operations between Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, following the terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express.
Both passenger and freight trains would remain halted until security and law enforcement agencies confirm that the situation in Balochistan has returned to normal.
The Jaffer Express attack sent shockwaves as fellow countryfellow prayed for the safety of all passengers, crew members, and those affected.
Railway teams, at the request of security authorities, arranged a special train to transport security personnel from Sibi to the attack site.
Meanwhile, the Jaffar Express (down) departed from Lahore at 5:30 PM on Tuesday but will terminate at Sukkur/Rohri, as it will not proceed to Quetta due to security concerns, according to media reports. .
PR also canceled two trains, Shah Hussain Express and Pak Business Train, due to low reservations. Passengers with confirmed bookings for these trains were adjusted into Karakoram and Karachi Express to facilitate their travel.
Help Desk Set Up at Rawalpindi Railway Station for Jaffar Express Incident
Rawalpindi: In the wake of the Jaffar Express attack, Pakistan Railways has established a help desk at Rawalpindi Railway Station to provide information regarding passengers, according to the PR spokesperson.
Passengers and their families can inquire about any affected travelers through the help desk, which remains in constant coordination with the Quetta and Peshawar control centers, the spokesperson added.
Additionally, an emergency cell has been set up at the Quetta Railway Station's inquiry office to handle urgent queries.
