Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met national footballer Muhammad Riaz on Wednesday and provided financial assistance of Rs2.5 million, along with announcing a job for him.
The gesture comes after the PM took notice of the athlete’s financial struggles.
Muhammad Riaz, a talented footballer from Hangu, had been forced to sell jalebis to make ends meet after losing his job due to the closure of departmental sports during the previous government’s tenure. His story gained attention on social media, prompting PM Shehbaz to take immediate action.
In response, the prime minister summoned Riaz to the Prime Minister’s House, where he assured him of full support.
