The Saudi Riyal (SAR) exchange rate saw a minor increase of two paisas against the Pakistani rupee in the open market, reaching Rs74.65 on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
The selling rate also edged up, with exchange companies offering 1 SAR for Rs75.20, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan.
The Saudi Riyal (SAR) is the official currency of Saudi Arabia, and one Riyal is subdivided into 100 halalas.
The Saudi Riyal is trading at Rs74.65 in the open market, meaning 1,000 SAR can be exchanged for Rs74,650 in Pakistani currency.
Pakistan’s remittances surge in Feb 2025
Pakistan received $3.1 billion in remittances from overseas workers in February 2025, marking a 3.8% increase compared to January 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On a year-on-year basis, remittances saw a significant 38.6% rise, compared to the $2.25 billion recorded in February 2024.
Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia sent the highest amount of remittances in February 2025, totaling $744.4 million.
