Sharjah has revealed the Eid Al Fitr holiday dates for government sector employees.
The holiday will commence from Shawwal 1 to Shawwal 3, 1446 AH, as per an announcement made by the Sharjah Government's Department of Human Resources on Tuesday.
Official work will resume for public sector employees on Shawwal 4, 1446 AH, with the exception of those working in shifts.
Depending on the Moon sighting, if Eid Al Fitr falls on Sunday, March 30, government employees in Sharjah will enjoy a five-day holiday from Friday, April 28 to Tuesday, April 1.
Should the festival begin on Monday, March 31, these employees will receive a six-day long weekend from Friday, March 28 to Wednesday, April 2.

In January 2022, government departments in Sharjah switched to a three-day weekend, with employees now having Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off, thus providing longer weekends for the workforce.
The UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources previously announced the Eid Al Fitr holiday for government employees across the nation.
In the UAE, the Moon sighting is scheduled to occur on March 29, with Islamic months typically lasting either 29 or 30 days. Eid Al Fitr, celebrated on Shawwal 1, marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
