The Pakistan’s National Day was commemorated with great reverence in a solemn ceremony held at the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi.
According to details, the event, which brought together diplomats, guests, and community members, was marked by a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Pakistan’s Charge d'Affaires, Saad Ahmad Waraich.
The ceremony began with a display of patriotism as the national flag was raised, followed by the reading of messages from Pakistan's President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister. Saad Ahmad Waraich, speaking on behalf of the High Commission, reflected on the historical significance of the occasion. He noted, "The Lahore Resolution of 1940 paved the way for the creation of a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent."
Waraich also paid tribute to the vision of Pakistan’s founding fathers, stating, “The founders of Pakistan dreamed of an Islamic welfare state based on justice and equality.” He highlighted the indomitable leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, saying, "We salute their insightful leadership."
The Charge d'Affaires further emphasised the strength of Pakistan’s defence, stating, "Pakistan's nuclear deterrence is invincible, and our courageous armed forces serve as a shield against all threats." He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to peaceful coexistence and collective prosperity, asserting, "Pakistan believes in the principles of peaceful coexistence and mutual welfare."
Waraich also mentioned the renewal of the Kartarpur Corridor agreement, which he described as a symbol of Pakistan’s unwavering resolve, adding, "The renewal of the Kartarpur Corridor agreement stands as proof of Pakistan's commitment."
Speaking on regional stability, Waraich remarked, "A constructive approach is essential for regional peace and security." He cautioned against rigidity, stating, “Obstinacy and stubbornness cannot pave the way for a bright future for the region."
The Charge d'Affaires concluded by emphasising the importance of resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people, remarking, “The resolution of the Kashmir issue, in line with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, remains critical.”
