Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar found herself in the middle of a controversy during her concert in Melbourne after arriving three hours late.
The long delay frustrated the audience, leading to boos and harsh criticism from fans.
Realizing the disappointment among her fans, Neha Kakkar took the stage with an emotional apology. With tears in her eyes, she addressed the crowd, saying, "Guys, you are really sweet! You have been patient. Itni der se aap log wait kar rahe ho (You have been patiently waiting for me). I hate it, maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya hai. Aap itni der se wait kar rahe ho. (Never in my life have I made anyone wait. You were all waiting for long)."
While some fans applauded her sincerity, others remained frustrated. A member of the audience shouted, "This is not India, you are in Australia!" while another sarcastically remarked, "Very good acting. This is not Indian Idol."
A video of Neha's apology quickly went viral, with many criticizing her for what they perceived as "drama." One internet user shared the video with the caption, "Came up the stage at 10 PM for a 7:30 show. Then doing drama of crying… wrapped up in less than an hour. Such a crap concert… height of unprofessionalism."
Before her Melbourne concert, Neha Kakkar had performed in Sydney and shared joyful moments from the event on social media. She is widely known for her hit songs like Kala Chashma, Aankh Maarey, and London Thumakda.
Despite the backlash, Neha has yet to address the criticism directly. Fans now await to see if she will respond to the controversy or let it pass.
