A babysitter in Great Bend, Kansas, was left horrified when she discovered a man hiding under a bed, following a child's complaint of a "monster."
The shocking incident occurred on Monday night as the babysitter, who was putting the children to bed, tried to reassure them there was no such creature lurking under the bed.
According to the Barton County Sheriff's Office, the 27-year-old suspect, identified as Martin Villalobos Junior, had previously lived at the residence but had been barred from returning due to a restraining order. The office revealed that the babysitter, upon attempting to show the child there was nothing under the bed, was confronted by the male suspect.
The sheriff's office stated that during the ensuing struggle between the babysitter and Villalobos, a child was knocked over. The suspect managed to flee the house before being apprehended by authorities the following morning in the same area.
Villalobos was detained on a series of charges, including kidnapping, burglary, battery, and child endangerment. He was held in the Barton County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
