It’s the end of an era for fans of CID, one of India’s longest-running and most loved crime series.
After more than two decades of solving thrilling cases, CID may be heading toward its most emotional and shocking moment yet – the death of ACP Pradyuman.
Legacy built since 1998
Played by Shivaji Satam, ACP Pradyuman became a household name across India. His famous catchphrases like “Daya, darwaza tod do” and “Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya” became part of pop culture. Since 1998, Satam has portrayed the sharp, calm, and courageous head of the CID team, gaining fans across generations.
Most emotional twist yet
In an upcoming episode, the story takes a heartbreaking turn. The villain Barbossa (played by Tigmanshu Dhulia) returns with a plan to destroy the entire CID team. A bomb is planted, and while the team narrowly escapes, ACP Pradyuman does not survive the blast.
“The team recently shot the episode, which will go on air in a few days. As of now, not many details have been shared, as the makers want this to be a big shock for fans,” India Today reported, citing a source.
The emotional episode has already been filmed and is expected to air soon on Sony TV and Netflix.
Is this the end of CID?
While the show is still running its second season, many believe this twist could be setting the stage for a finale. Though CID has brought characters back from the dead before, no such plans have been confirmed for ACP Pradyuman.
Fans are already expressing grief online, with many hoping that the makers reconsider or surprise them with a comeback.
True people’s hero
Shivaji Satam once said, “People connect with police heroes because they’re real and inspiring.”
He certainly became one of the most beloved police figures on Indian television. His contribution to the show made CID what it is today.
What’s next for CID?
While CID: Season 2 is still streaming and the animated spin-off CID Squad: Naye Yug Ka Naya CID continues for younger audiences, fans are bracing themselves for what might be the show's most unforgettable moment.
