OnePlus may soon introduce the Nord CE 5, the successor to its mid-range Nord CE 4 smartphone, according to recent reports. While the company has not yet made any official announcements, emerging specifications suggest a significant focus on battery performance for the upcoming device.
According to a rumours, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 will feature a substantial 7,100mAh battery, representing a notable 29 percent increase over the 5,500mAh capacity found in the current Nord CE 4. This upgraded battery capacity could potentially position the Nord CE 5 as a category leader in terms of battery performance within its market segment.
Processing power for the Nord CE 5 is expected to come from either Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC or MediaTek's Dimensity 8400 chipset. The device will reportedly maintain UFS 3.1 onboard storage technology, matching the storage specifications of its predecessor.
For reference, the Nord CE 4 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus also expanded the Nord CE lineup in June 2024 with the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G, which includes a Snapdragon 695 SoC and a 5,500mAh battery.
While specific launch dates remain unconfirmed, industry observers expect additional information about the OnePlus Nord CE 5 to emerge in the coming weeks as the reported May release window approaches.
