Nadal Ahmed, the Pakistani teenager who made headlines globally after Onijah Andrews, a U.S. citizen, flew to Karachi to meet him and refused to leave for months, has now broken his silence.
In an interview with a foreign YouTube channel, 19-year-old Nadal confirmed that the two are indeed in a romantic relationship and have been together for over two years.
“We've been in a relationship for the past two to two-and-a-half years,” Nadal shared, adding that Onijah’s trip to Pakistan was entirely her own decision.
Nadal revealed that Onijah stayed in a hotel in Karachi for almost three months, and during that time, she remained in close contact with him and his family
“She even went shopping with my mother and sisters. They’re still in touch,” he said.
He pushed back strongly against rumors claiming he abandoned or cheated on Onijah.
“I've heard people saying that I left her or cheated on her, but that's not true. We're still in contact,” he clarified.
“Show me one video where she says I left her—there is none. These are baseless assumptions.”
One of the more surprising revelations was Nadal’s denial of any marriage to Onijah, despite the woman claiming otherwise.
“We are not married. I don’t know why Onijah is saying that,” Nadal stated.
“Like any other couple, we love each other. Every relationship has ups and downs.”
He added that they’re now working on different projects and might be seen together again soon.
Onijah had landed in Karachi in October 2024, allegedly to marry Nadal, after meeting him online. However, her stay quickly turned into a legal and social controversy after her visa expired, and she refused to return home. Her emotional media appearances and viral soundbites made her an instant social media sensation in both Pakistan and the United States.
She eventually returned to the U.S. in February 2025, shortly after her son claimed she was suffering from a psychological disorder. Despite that, she continues to appear on US-based digital platforms, retaining a cult following online.
