Public Accounts Committee Chairman Junaid Akbar asserted on Tuesday that there was not just one, but many factions existed within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking to media in Islamabad, Akbar said: “If each member of PTI is given an opportunity to move forward, differences of opinion are bound to emerge,” he added.
“In PTI, the individual who receives the support of PTI founder Imran Khan, will rise to prominence,” he said.
“There are only the PTI founder and his workers left in the party,” Junaid Akbar stated.
“There are no prominent figures remaining in the party at present — everyone is like us,” he concluded.
Separately on Monday, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had said that if the establishment gets in touch, the PTI is ready to engage in dialogue, adding that even a single day of meaningful talks could pave the way for resolving longstanding political tensions.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s programme "Nadeem Malik Live", Barrister Gohar emphasised the need for political dialogue, stating that the PTI has consistently shown willingness for talks, but progress has been hampered by a lack of sincere engagement.
“The PTI founder gave clear instructions that the door to dialogue must remain open — not for personal gain, but for the sake of democracy and national interest,” Gohar said.
