James Vince (47-ball 47) and Hasan Ali (3-27) powered Karachi Kings to a comfortable 56-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in the eighth match of PSL X at the Karachi stadium on Friday.
GLADIATORS' INNINGS
Chasing a 176-run target, the Gladiators were restricted to 119-9 in 20 overs as Kings bowlers dominated proceedings.
Interestingly, Gladiators captain and opener Saud Shakeel remained unbeaten on a 40-ball 33. Mohammad Amir was the second-highest scorer for the Gladiators with a 16-ball 30, which included two boundaries and three sixes.
Finn Allen (6), Hasan Nawaz (1), Kusal Mendis (12), Khawaja Nafay (1), Rilee Rossouw (0), Faheem Ashraf (3), Sean Abbott (3), and Abrar Ahmed (5) failed to offer significant resistance with the bat.
Ali Majid remained unbeaten on an 8-ball 9.
For the Kings, Hasan remained the standout bowler, claiming three wickets. Mohammad Nabi (2-7) and Abbas Afridi (2-9) picked up two wickets apiece. Aamer Jamal (1-10) and Mir Hamza (1-31) took a scalp each. Khushdil Shah (0-28) remained wicketless.
KINGS' INNINGS
Earlier, opting to bat first, the Kings were off to a flying start, with captain David Warner (31) and Tim Seifert stitching together a quick partnership. But the Kings faced a hiccup after the partnership was broken by Abrar Ahmed.
Subsequently, the Kings lost four wickets for 91. But it was James Vince who once again played a blinder, amassing 70 off 47 balls, studded with six boundaries and one six.
Muhammad Riazullah (6), Khushdil Shah (1), Irfan Khan (17), and Mohammad Nabi (18) could not put up any significant resistance with the bat.
Aamer Jamal remained unbeaten on 1 off 2 balls.
For the Gladiators, Ali Majid (2-29) and Mohammad Amir (2-42) took two wickets apiece. Saud Shakeel (1-20), Sean Abbott (1-33), and Abrar Ahmed (1-33) each took a wicket. Faheem Ashraf (0-17) remained wicketless.
