Lahore police have registered cases against TikToker Kashif Zameer and a police constable for mocking the police uniform on social media. The TikToker and constable have both been arrested, while raids are underway to apprehend Kashif Zameer.
According to police, a case has been lodged against Zameer at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station, while Constable Khurram Shehzad has been booked at Sabzazar Police Station. The FIRs include serious charges under the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) among other laws.
The FIR states that Kashif Zameer publicly ridiculed the police uniform during a wedding event by presenting a money-filled tray to the police official and showering cash over him, which allegedly undermined the dignity and honour of the police department.
Furthermore, the FIR mentions that the accused attempted to evade legal action by using artificial intelligence to create a second, altered video. In the fake clip, the uniform’s colour was digitally changed to mislead viewers. The police constable featured in the original video has been taken into custody.
