The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given approval for all-rounder Angelo Mathews to replace fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana in Sri Lanka's World Cup squad.
Pathirana had been unable to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the match against Pakistan on October 10, leading to his exclusion from the tournament.

Angelo Mathews, a former captain, boasts a wealth of experience with 221 ODIs to his name, with his most recent appearance against Afghanistan in June.
Sri Lanka recently secured a five-wicket victory over the Netherlands with 10 balls to spare at the World Cup in India. Their next challenge will be against England on Thursday.
