The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed nine alleged terrorists in the Khanai Baba area of Pishin district, Balochistan.
The operation was conducted late on Thursday night based on intelligence inputs regarding the presence of armed suspects in the region.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation resulted in a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the suspects. All nine alleged terrorists were neutralized during the gun battle.
The spokesperson confirmed that a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain individuals. The recovered weapons are believed to have been used in previous attacks across the province.
“The individuals killed were wanted in multiple cases related to sabotage, terrorism, and armed attacks in Balochistan,” the CTD said in a statement.
The law enforcement agency added that initial investigations suggest the group was planning further acts of violence in the province. The area has since been cleared, and a detailed forensic analysis and evidence collection process is underway.
Further investigations are currently in progress to determine the broader network and affiliations of the slain individuals.
