World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance platform backed by U.S. President Donald Trump, has formalized a strategic partnership with the Pakistan Crypto Council to accelerate blockchain innovation and promote sustainable cryptocurrency adoption across Pakistan.
The partnership agreement was signed by Pakistan Crypto Council CEO Bilal Bin Saqib and representatives from World Liberty Financial, including Zachary Folkman, Zachary Witkoff, and Chase Hero. The signing ceremony was attended by Pakistan's Finance Minister, the Governor of the State Bank, the Chairman of SECP, and the Federal IT Secretary.
During their visit to Pakistan, the World Liberty Financial delegation also met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Army Chief, Deputy Prime Minister, Information Minister, and Defense Minister, signaling strong government support for this initiative.
"Pakistan's youth and technology sector are our greatest strengths. Partnerships like this will create new opportunities for investment, innovation, and global leadership in the blockchain economy," said Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the signing ceremony.
World Liberty Financial, which has received public endorsement from President Donald Trump, his sons Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Barron Trump, aims to revolutionize the global financial system through blockchain technology. President Trump himself characterized the launch of the World Liberty platform as a “historic moment” in a September 2024 social media post.
The collaboration will focus on several key initiatives, including:
- Establishing a regulatory sandbox to test blockchain financial products
- Promoting responsible development of DeFi protocols
- Tokenizing real-world assets such as real estate and commodities
- Increasing the use of stablecoins for remittances and trade
- Providing consultancy services on blockchain infrastructure and global regulations
Pakistan, with 64% of its population under 30 years of age, already ranks among the world's largest cryptocurrency users. The country reportedly processes approximately $300 billion in annual crypto transactions, with around 25 million active crypto users nationwide.
Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of Pakistan Crypto Council, emphasized that "Our collaboration with World Liberty Financial is not just an agreement but a strategy aimed at empowering our young population and connecting Pakistan to the global financial future."
Representatives from World Liberty Financial stated, "Pakistan's energy, vision, and potential make it an excellent location for building the future of decentralized finance globally."
With increasing mobile phone usage, a robust freelancing economy, and the government's growing interest in blockchain technology, Pakistan's young population appears positioned to play a significant role in the Web3 revolution as the country emerges as one of the rapidly growing crypto markets in the coming days.
