Pakistan women’s team opener Aliya Riaz beamed with joy after completing 1000 ODI runs during the first ODI against South Africa in Karachi on Friday.
Expressing her thoughts, Aliya said, "South Africa mounted pressure on us by picking up early wickets. We need to take the match to the end by racking up huge partnerships in the upcoming matches".
She expressed optimism that the home side will make a comeback in the second ODI against the Proteas.
Aliya vowed to continue to perform for the sake of the country and keep scoring runs for her side.

Speaking about the pitch situation, Aliya stressed the need to bowl wicket to wicket.
Aliya scored an undefeated 58-ball 49, studded with six boundaries, in a match where South Africa outclassed Pakistan by a big margin of 127 runs.
The second ODI of the series between Pakistan and South Africa, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship, will be held on September 11.
