In response to government directives, a comprehensive crackdown on drug dealers and suppliers commenced in September, marking a pivotal moment in the nation's fight against the narcotics trade.
From October 22 to October 29, the operation achieved remarkable success, resulting in the seizure of nearly 1,079 kilograms of narcotics and the apprehension of over 45 individuals involved in the illicit drug trade.
Throughout this operation, various regions reported substantial drug seizures. Punjab saw 40 kilograms confiscated, while Balochistan seized a staggering 507 kilograms.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, authorities intercepted 151 kilograms, with the northern areas contributing 42 kilograms, and Sindh reporting the seizure of 338 kilograms of narcotics.
These confiscations included a diverse range of illicit substances. Notably, Punjab saw the confiscation of 9 kilograms of hashish, 3.6 kilograms of heroin, 5.4 kilograms of meth, and 20.8 kilograms of opium.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, authorities seized 10.9 kilograms of heroin, 126 kilograms of hashish, 12 kilograms of opium, and 2.4 kilograms of meth.
Meanwhile, Balochistan reported the interception of 85 kilograms of heroin, 360 kilograms of hashish, and 36 kilograms of meth. Sindh's contribution included 0.9 kilograms of heroin and 16 kilograms of hashish.
The operation against drug dealers also led to the arrest of several individuals engaged in this illegal trade.
Punjab reported 14 arrests, while Sindh apprehended 10 individuals, Balochistan arrested 3, the northern areas arrested 11, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested 7 suspects.
Since September 1, the nationwide operation has yielded substantial results, with over 29,181 kilograms of narcotics seized and more than 356 arrests made.
The government, in conjunction with military leadership, remains resolute in their commitment to eliminate the scourge of narcotics from the nation, ensuring a safer and more promising future for the youth of the country.
