Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said that the country needs a stable government to drag it out of the quagmire.
Addressing the public gathering in Murree, Rehman said: “I had already said ahead of the no-confidence motion that the newly-formed government [PDM] could not steer the country out of the economic quagmire. However, the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) government had saved the country from default.”
Rehman maintained: “The challenges in the country still prevail. The Economic stability and law and order are vital to running the country in an organised way".

– Fazl bemoans deportation of Afghan refugees –
Few days back, the JUI-F chief expressed his reservations over the deportation of the Afghan refugees from the country.
In a video message, the JUI-F chief said, ‘’I stand against the way the Afghan refugees are being asked to leave Pakistan. Nowadays, the uproar has caused that the Afghan refugees are living in the country illegally.’’

"Why were the Afghan refugees facilitated in Pakistan if they were illegal? The 40-year hospitality has been ended by asking the Afghans to leave the country,’’ Rehman said.
Rehmain maintained: “Even during Pervez Musharraf’s regime, we opposed the matter pertaining to the alliance with the United States. What had the US obtained by launching the attack on Afghanistan? The US, in the end, had left Afghanistan in frustration.''
The JUI-F chief added, “This matter would have been resolved through negotiations”.
JUI-F supremo Maulana Fazlur Rehman commended on Tuesday the role of the Islamic scholars in the running government affairs.
