The Punjab Mass Transit Authority temporarily on Tuesday suspended the Orange Line Metro Train services in Lahore.
The authority cited the annual urs of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, the former chief of Tehreek Labaik Pakistan (TLP) as a reason for the suspension of services.
The annual urs celebrations commenced last Sunday and are set to conclude on Tuesday evening, drawing followers of the TLP from across Pakistan to Lahore.
The government's decision to suspend the key metro services was made without prior notice, leaving commuters to bear the brunt of the hasty move.
