The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announcing the reserved verdict ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intra-party elections within 20 days.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said PTI did not conduct transparent elections as per the Constitution.
The PTI should conduct the election within 20 days under the Constitution. The ECP said that intra-party election reports submit the report in seven days after the election.
The ECP remarked that intra-party elections of PTI were objectionable and controversial and could not be accepted.
“The Election Commission is taking a soft approach before taking any action,” the ECP said.
“If the intra-party elections are not held within the stipulated period, the party will be disqualified from contesting the elections,” the supreme electoral body said.
“If the party fails to conduct the election within 20 days, it will have to face serious consequences,” the ECP remarked.
“If PTI does not hold elections, it will be ineligible to collect election symbols for Majlis Shura elections,” the Election Commission of Pakistan said.
