Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Spokesperson Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday that her party will address the masses’ problems.
Addressing a press conference in Kamonki, Awan said: “The country has yet to fulfil the dream of Allama Iqbal. We will work for the sake of uplifting meritocracy.”
She launched a fresh salvo at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “The PTI had harmed itself to lead towards political suicide. The youngsters were incited during the events that transpired on May 9.”
Firdous said: “The PTI did not fulfil the expectations of the masses during its tenure. The PTI had left the state and the masses at loggerheads.”
She said, “The IPP has looked to change the country’s infrastructure under the leadership of IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen and IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan.”
– Countless efforts for PTI went in vain, laments Imran Ismail –
Few days back, IPP senior leader Imran Ismail said that his countless efforts for the PTI went in vain.
Addressing a press conference flanked by Mehmood Maulvi in Karachi, Ismail recalled, “There were many reasons that compelled us to form the PTI with the intention of creating Naya Pakistan.’’
He reiterated the events that transpired on May 9, saying, “Those who were not involved in the May 9 violence had separated themselves. However, those who were involved in May 9 vandalism are now facing the consequences of what they did.”
Ismail said that the May 9 mayhem was the “black chapter” in the country’s history. He vowed to spill out the beans about the May 9 events in more detail soon. ‘’The country’s youth had backed the PTI in a bid to see the dreaming of Naya Pakistan getting true,’’ he rued.
‘’I started the struggle for the sake of Naya Pakistan when I was only 26. I was known as the founding leaders of the PTI,’’ he said.
Speaking about the general elections, Ismail said, “We will play a vital role in the upcoming elections. We have not considered alliances with any party so far, but possibility exists.’’
