Pakistani entertainment icon Bushra Ansari, celebrated for her multi-faceted talents in acting, singing, playwriting, and comedy, recently made an appearance on an entertainment show.
Ansari, who recently gained acclaim for her role as Maa Begum in the popular television serial "Tere Bin," discussed various aspects of her career, family, and societal issues.
During the show, Bushra Ansari showcased her singing talents by performing a soulful rendition of Asha Bhosle's beloved song "Aesa To Socha Na Tha."
Ansari shared that her early acting career as a child actor lasted for two years before her family encouraged her to pursue radio singing. Despite not appearing on television screens for five years, she continued to stay involved in creative pursuits.
Ansari also discussed her venture into stand-up comedy with her one-woman show "Malika-e-Tabassum." Initially hesitant, she accepted the opportunity after director Dawar Mehmood explained that her involvement would open doors for other women in stand-up comedy.
When asked about her reaction to the feedback received for her performances, Ansari mentioned her satisfaction with the success of "Tere Bin." She described the serial as a fantasy and attributed its success to being a commercial project.
Furthermore, Ansari encouraged young women, including housewives and newly married individuals, to pursue personal and professional growth simultaneously. She emphasized the importance of asserting one's rights and not tolerating insults from others.
The discussion also touched upon her decision to divorce her ex-husband during a time when women had limited autonomy. Ansari emphasized the rights granted by Islam but noted that it took her 36 years to exercise her right to divorce wisely.
Ansari outlined three key points: not allowing anyone to insult you, staying productive, and maintaining a well-organized household.
Despite nearly five decades in the entertainment industry, Bushra Ansari expressed concerns about the lack of personal space and privacy for public figures and the challenges posed by social media, where criticism can be harsh and insensitive.
