Ambassador Khazar Farhadov of the Republic of Azerbaijan had a significant meeting with Pakistan's Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu on Wednesday. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu shared his strategic vision for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), emphasizing the commitment to modernizing its capabilities in air, space, cyber, and electronic warfare domains.
The primary emphasis of their discussion revolved around joint operational training and comprehensive cooperation in cross-domain, multi-spectrum operations. Air Chief Marshal Sidhu highlighted the historical friendship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, grounded in shared experiences, religious and cultural bonds, and a commitment to regional peace and stability.
He expressed his determination to enhance inter-military cooperation, particularly in training and defense aviation. Given an upcoming major air exercise at the Air Power Centre of Excellence, he stressed the importance of joint aerial drills to promote mutual learning and address common security challenges.
The Chief of the Air Staff offered full cooperation for comprehensive training programs, from basic to tactical training, to strengthen Azerbaijan Air Force's technical skills and enhance interoperability between the two air forces. He commended the professionalism of PAF personnel in times of conflict and peace and their achievements in developing a progressive domestic aviation industry.
Ambassador Farhadov praised the strong diplomatic and defense ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and expressed optimism about an even stronger alliance in the future. He also expressed interest in Pakistan's visionary project, 'The National Aerospace Science and Technology Park,' recognizing its significance in advancing the domestic aerospace industry.
