Afghanistan Taliban interim government requested Pakistan to open the Torkham border on a ‘humanitarian basis’ while assuring to stop the use of its territory against Pakistan.
Foreign Minister of the Interim government of Afghanistan, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with the Chargé d'affaires of the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul in which he assured that the Afghan territory will not be used against Pakistan.
Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi requested Pakistan to open the Torkham border on humanitarian grounds.
Sources claimed that the Pakistan -Afghan Torkham border crossing, which has been closed for several days, is likely to reopen tomorrow (Friday).
Earlier, Pakistan had expressed concern over the misuse of the Afghan Transit Trade Agreement.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office says that the transit trade is only between Pakistan and Afghanistan, India is not included in it, and there has been no change in the position regarding the recognition of the Afghan interim government.
The spokesperson said that the land of Afghanistan is being used against Pakistan, and the presence of terrorists among Afghan refugees is intolerable.
