A former member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to lodge an appeal with the Supreme Court against the Peshawar High Court's stay order on the election commission’s decision that nullified the PTI's intra-party elections.
Jahangir Khan stated that the party's intra-party elections did not align with electoral regulations.
Khan firmly asserted that the elections did not comply with the stipulated election laws. He emphasized his association with the party, spanning back to his membership from the Charsadda district since 2000, and stressed on possessing legitimate documents and membership.
Khan also revealed that he was abruptly dismissed from the party without prior notice after he filed a case against the PTI’s intra-party elections in the Election Commission of Pakistan.
If the PTI did not consider him a member, how the party could expel him, he asked. The PTI held the intra-party poll while neglecting its workers.
He also alleged that there were fixed rates for tickets in the PTI's electoral process, implying potential irregularities within the party's internal mechanisms.
