As per a British newspaper report—Telegraph—India has sided with Russia on the issue of Ukraine and that would not be a neutral position by any means as the British Prime Minister is making a free trade deal with India and in return, India is supporting Russia's ambitions.
The British newspaper said the British Prime Minister is silent on the massacres and serious violations of human rights by the Modi government in India while India is increasingly leaning towards Russia.
According to the British newspaper Telegraph, an extraordinary deal was reached between the Indian and Russian foreign ministers in a meeting on the occasion of Christmas.
In the meeting, India and Russia agreed on the establishment of a ‘new world order’, and announced a close and exclusive strategic partnership.
According to the report, the Indian foreign minister stressed on strengthening relations with Russia and also endorsed President Putin's global design.
The two countries also announced the start of joint production of new weapons, according to British media, both announcement is a serious alarm for Ukraine and Russia has found a new ally in the war against Ukraine.
The report further stated that the Indian and Russian Foreign Ministers indicated that Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine would not affect the positive relations between India and Russia. Both countries have begun talking about a strategic partnership, which defies the West's narrative on the Ukraine issue.
According to the report, the Modi government has been using the parliament to bring about major changes in Indian laws, which is being described as a precursor to the worst wave of atrocities on Muslims and minorities.
Recently, Economist magazine declared India as a ‘poor democracy’ in the Democracy Index.
