Mortal Kombat fans have a new reason to celebrate as Warner Bros. Games unveiled the trailer for Mortal Kombat 1, the latest instalment in the long-running video game series.
Known for its intense violence and gore, the franchise has evolved since its inception in the 1990s, promising players even more gruesome fatalities and thrilling gameplay.
What's New in “Mortal Kombat 1”:
Mortal Kombat 1 can be seen as a reboot of a reboot, introducing players to a fresh take on the Mortal Kombat universe.
This time, fire god Liu Kang takes the spotlight, showcasing classic fireball projectiles, deadly choreography, and shapeshifting abilities that lead to brutal and gory fatalities.
While it's technically Mortal Kombat 12, the game is referred to as "1" due to the time travel element in the series, which was introduced in Mortal Kombat 9.
Storyline and Characters:
The game is set in a seemingly idealized world where Mortal Kombat icons like Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Li Mei, Tanya, Baraka, Geras, Reptile, Ashrah, Havik, Sindel, and Nitara coexist.
However, conflict arises when the sorcerer Shang Tsung makes an appearance. Fans are excited about the return of these beloved characters and the intriguing storyline.
Release Details:
Early access for Mortal Kombat 1 begins on September 16 for Premium Edition members and September 19 for standard players.
Crossplay between consoles is in development, but players can enjoy the game with friends on the same system upon its launch.
