The soldiers of Pakistan have sacrificed their lives for the defence of the country without caring for their lives. In this context, the spirit of heroism burns bright in Haripur, Pakistan, where Sepoy Mohsin Khan, a decorated soldier of the Pakistan Army Artillery Corps, stands as a symbol of courage and unwavering dedication to his country.
Commissioned in the army's Artillery Corps in 2010, Khan's story of sacrifice and resilience resonates with the youth, reminding them of the countless martyrs who have given their all for the sake of Pakistan.
In 2012, while being stationed in Dera Ismail Khan, during a daring operation against terrorists in the Kulachi area, Sepoy Khan displayed exceptional bravery, eventually losing a leg in the battle on the night between February 1 and 2.

While setting up the outer perimeter, he came under enemy fire, sustaining two bullet wounds. Despite the injury, he remained resolute, fighting back and contributing to the successful capture of 10 terrorists and the killing of two others.
"On the night of February 1 and 2, 2012, we received information about the presence of terrorists, and we got an order to conduct an operation. My team and I were assigned the responsibility of setting up the outer cordon, during which we came under fire from the terrorists. As a result, I got two bullets,” he recalled.
This act of valour came at a cost. "I was immediately shifted to CMH Dera Ismail Khan, where one of my legs was amputated. I was sad but also proud to have sacrificed for the homeland," he narrated.
"I am thankful to the Pakistan Army for treating me very well," he said, his voice filled with unwavering patriotism.
"The Pakistan Army awarded me the Tamgha-e-Bisalat on March 23, 2013 for my sacrifice, bravery, and courage against while fighting terrorists. I have a message for the terrorists, that no matter how much they try, we will thwart all their plans and destroy them."
Khan’s father said he had told the army chief also that he had six children, all of whom he would sacrifice for the Pakistan Army, if and when need be.
"I am very proud of my son who [fought the enemy]. Even if he had been martyred, it would have been a will of God. We are proud of him. Our lives are here for the Pakistan Army and the country,” he remarked.
Mohsin’s mother she was proud of her son who sacrificed his leg for the country. His wife said she was proud to be the wife of a soldier who sacrificed for Pakistan.
“I will always be standing with him,” she added.
