The caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi discussed with a delegation of Chinese environmentalists to abolition of the issue of smog in Punjab. Chinese expert submitted a preliminary report on the causes of smog in Lahore.
Chinese experts highlighted that unnecessary use of organic and inorganic fuels, and high humidity in the atmosphere is the cause of smog while dust and gas burned in houses are also among the causes of smog.
The smoke coming out from the coal plants in India is also a cause of smog in Punjab while certain ratios of various elements cause smog in Punjab.
Compounds of various elements including carbon dioxide and nitrogen form smog causing series infections, especially among teenagers.
The Chinese experts also propose solutions to combat smog and stress for an inclusive strategy to address the causes of smog.
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi pledged to solve the smog challenge so it could ease in the future.
Punjab govt steps to combat smog
Naqvi said the Punjab government took several steps including the closure of schools, and ban on crop residue burning, and smog despite the reduction in traffic is worth considering.
