In a recent social media spectacle, Kanye West, the 46-year-old rap icon, showcased his jaw-dropping new titanium dentures comparing himself to the infamous James Bond villain, Jaws.
However, the extravagant dental makeover, rumored to have cost a staggering $850,000, is now under scrutiny as a prominent Australian dentist, Dr. Sam Koh, raises serious health concerns.
According to Dr. Koh, a specialist in dental health, Kanye West's flashy titanium implants, also known as "fixed prosthodontics," might pave the way for major dental troubles. The dentist warned that maintaining oral hygiene with these metallic teeth could become a significant challenge for the rapper.
"Microscopically, there will be a lot of food, bacteria, and debris getting underneath the titanium, which can then cause a lot of bad breath, sensitivity, tooth decay, and gum issues such as disease and infection if the titanium is there long term," explained Dr. Sam in an exclusive statement to Daily Mail.
Moreover, the Australian dental expert expressed skepticism about the permanence of Kanye's dental transformation. Dr. Koh speculated that instead of opting for permanent removal, the rapper might have had his original teeth shaved down.
He suggested that the remaining natural teeth could shift over time, compromising the integrity of the adhesive that secures the titanium in place.
"This would then result in either the bridge coming loose over time, or much worse, dental decay, infection, and disease with the bacteria able to then get inside the teeth," added Dr. Sam, raising concerns about potential complications in Kanye West's dental future.
