Students at the Karachi University (KU) are facing difficulties regarding travel facilities due to an acute shortage of buses.
The shortage of buses is a major inconvenience for students who have to travel long distances to attend classes.
Where once 110 buses used to provide travel facilities, now there are only 27 buses left for an educational institution enrolling over 50,000 students.
This shortage of buses has forced students to travel in overcrowded and dilapidated buses, leading to several students fainting due to heat and suffocation.
Students say that most of the people travel by hanging on the doors which poses a serious risk of accidents.
The students have written letters and called for protests, but the administration has reportedly acted evasively.
The transport in-charge of the Karachi University, Muhammad Dildar, has claimed that the funds to repair the buses are not available.
